Day 77 Turkey 4/12/2010, Istanbul. A better day and our last in Istanbul.

After yesterday's troubles I woke up feeling strangely philosophical. I think sometimes you have to except that things are going to go wrong, it's how you cope with them that matters. Especially on a trip of this length and challenge.

In a more buoyant mood we walked down to the ferry port and booked our tickets for tomorrow. All we have to do now is get up and packed early as the ferry leaves at 7am.

Heading back into the city we bought a Turkish sim for Debs' phone, to replace the lost one and stocked up on toiletries.

We then spent a while sitting in the park eating simits, drinking çay and people watching. The day has been a vast improvement on yesterday. I even went for a haircut and it wasn't a complete disaster. I will be able to appear in photos not wearing a hat!

Hopefully a nice meal and a trip down to Eminonu docks to watch the illuminated boats will round off what has been a eventful time in Istanbul.
