Day 435 South Africa 11/01/2012, Albergo backpackers, Plettenberg Bay. A walk on the beach.

We had a quiet day today, although thanks to the hot sun beating down on the tent, it came with an early start. Ordinarily you get used to waking up early while camping, but this morning we were suffering from lack of sleep due to a party held from 4am onwards in the flats behind the site. Black and now coloured Africans it seems, have no consideration for anyone around them.

Having breakfasted we wandered down the steep hill to the beach and had a walk along it to the look-out rocks. From there, we explored the rocks, had a look at the pretty bay and then headed up to another viewpoint.

If it had been the right season we would have had a good chance of seeing southern right whales and possibly humpbacks. As it was, Debs had to content herself with sitting on the whale tail bench watching the surfers.

With it not about to get any cooler, we headed back to the town, had a brief walk round the shops, stopped for a coffee and cake and then returned to the camp. While Debs tried to get some work on the computer done, I made full use of the hammocks.

Dinner tonight was followed by a few beers and a nice chat to some of our fellow guests. With any luck there will not be a repeat of last night's party. We may have a short distance to go tomorrow, but we would rather do it having had at least some sleep.
